Then there's the 36 anniversary dp103 but I haven't tried that one I think the 36th Anniversary dp223 bridge and dp103 neck pickups use the air technology, I don't think their previous "PAF" pickup did. It's certainly less boomy than the '59N and less chirpy that the Jazz N. It's sweet and warm, but it's got clarity, and it's not overly bassy, but it's still got that slightly hollow PAF vibe going on.

Webb14 juli 2010 · Both sound great, but the 36th anniversary is an attempt for something vintage sounding. The PAF Pro is more about capturing some of the qualities of a PAF -- clarity, mostly -- and putting it in a pickup able to cut through processing. It's my personal favorite. Fun fact: The PAF Pro was originally designed for *GASP* Steve Vai's first Jems.
