Strange that installing the HD2 kit made things worse; I suspect there was a problem with the boost valve. What year is your 4L60E? I recommend the Sonnax boost valve even when installing the HD2 kit. If your car is above 120K-150K, I would not take that chance. Do the job right the first time and proceed with the rebuild.
